What is the difference between arcade and sim racing?
Arcade racers (like Forza Horizon or the Need for Speed series) prioritise fun, accessible handling, while sim racers (Assetto Corsa, iRacing, rFactor) model realistic physics and reward a wheel setup. Both are well represented on PC.
Do I need a racing wheel?
No — most racing games play well on a controller, and arcade titles are designed for it. A wheel and pedals deepen sim racing considerably, but they're optional. Each guide notes controller support.
Are racing games expensive because of DLC?
